FASHION RULES MEANT TO BE BROKEN

Some fashion rules are way are absolute musts. Check out quick short list on rules that should be broken.

1. Mixing silver and gold jewelry is a no-no

This rule, although old fashioned is definitely meant to be broken! Silver and gold jewelry can look very chic and classy together.  I also think it gives an outfit a kind of edge and can really glam it up.

2. Faux Fur and Leather

Before, these types of materials looked very fake and were even very uncomfortable to wear.  However, because of the many animal rights activists the material quality, faux fur and leather are totally in.  Not only are they much more inexpensive, but they're great if you want the look but don't want to cost an animal's life.

3. Navy and black don't go together

Of course navy and black go together! I think pretty much any color can go with black.  This rule is too ridiculous to not break.

4. No white after labor day

White in Winter

White is always in style just as black will always be a classic.  White is a very chic and elegant color, personally I like wearing an all dark outfit with a white jacket or bag.

5. Shorts are only for summer

Even when it gets cold, I think shorts can still be worn.  You just have to pair it with the right leggings or tights (fleece lined maybe?) and you can add some cute stockings and booties and you're good to go.

Happy Veterans Day! To celebrate that veteran in your life, why not buy them something sweet from the mall?  Although Veterans Day is not a huge sale day, there are still many websites and stores that have some good deals.

ONLINE SHOPPING ALL DAY EVERY DAY

Lets face it; everyone loves online shopping.  Whether it's looking for dresses or new outfits, video games or books, there's an online shop for just about anything.  So here I'd like to share some of my favorite interwebz stores!

Everyone has their own fashion obsessions.  For me, those obsessions include crop tops and dresses.  I just love feeling girly or cutesy. Some of these obsessions also stem from my admirable love of Jenn Im (If I could be her, I would LOL) but they also come from Japanese and Korean fashion.

Although crop tops are perfect summer pieces, they can also be transitioned into fall and winter.  Just add warm jackets, pants, scarfs and even sheer/nude undergarments.

YOU WEAR THE PANTS

You wear the pants! Or leggings in my case.  Just because it's getting cold doesn't mean you have to put away those cute leggings or even light-weight jeans!  Of course, buying thicker jeans and fleece leggings are a must in the cold weather but remember; you can always layer your clothes.

Classic Sheer Tights

For leggings, a good base layer to start with would be sheer or opaque tights.  You can also double layer tights under leggings and it won't look chunky because tights are thin.  For regular pants or jeans, leggings or tights may be layered underneath depending on the style and fit of the pants/jeans.

SCARVES, SCARVES AND MORE SCARVES

Scarves are one of those timeless pieces that are great for all seasons!  You heard me, they can even come in handy during the summer.

There's a scarf for every season.

Although I'm not too much of a scarf person (more so a coat person haha) my favorite scarves are ones that are either unbelievably soft and comfy or scarfs that have some kind of multipurpose use.  

GET READY FOR SWEATER WEATHER

You don't need no man to cuddle with to keep you warm during the colder seasons! Just throw on your favorite comfy sweater and a few other necessities (which I'll go over later) and you'll be good to go.

OOTD: HALLOWEEN

Let's just say, HALLOWEEN is one of the best holidays!  Who doesn't like spooky things and dressing up to get candy?  Anyway, every Halloween I try to come up with awesome costume ideas and I also tend to make my own costumes since buying the real thing would be wayyyy too expensive.  This year I went as Princess Zelda from The Legend of Zelda game series.

Let me just say, this costume was a bit tricky to make.  The banner in the front probably took the longest because I painted all the details (using a stencil of course haha)  and the shoulder armor and crown were a bit tricky since I needed to make it so that I could actually move while wearing it.  Luckily there were many tips all over the internet and so I was able to put this costume in action. (The only pieces I bought for this outfit were the skirt and gloves)

Nothing like a homemade costume and stuffing your face with chocolate candies while watching a scary movie, My kind of Halloween.

FASHION NON-SENSE

The "Shredded" Hoodie

Everyone has a fashion trend that they love but makes absolutely no sense.  For me it's "shredded or ripped" clothing

Yes, I know the tears have no meaning except to make a fashion statement.

5 FASHION DON'TS

It's always great to mix styles and put your own twists on your own fashion but here are some fashion no-no's that should be avoided.

1. Tights as Pants

nope.

Now, I'm a firm believer that leggings can look fine as pants provided that you wear the right undergarments (or long top) and get leggings with a material that is very opaque and not super skin tight.  Tights on the other hand should never be worn as pants! (tights are normally sheer while leggings are not)

Forever 21 Double-Breasted Parka

A good study coat that can withstand the chilly fall breeze! Must also have nice big pockets and a hood.  Bonus if it's waterproof and has inside pockets.
